Artic Adventure A - Planet of Death
A classic text adventure, amateurishly mucked about with by EdwardianDuck.
Originally released for the ZX81 and Spectrum computers in the early 1980's, this game, while very under-implemented, terse and not always making a lot of sense, is nevertheless fondly remembered by many people of a certain age. This version has been rewritten in Arcturus/Cosmos as a learning exercise and improved (for some questionable meaning of improved) by adding more text, fixing some internal consistency issues and generally trying to make it a bit more playable for modern users. It is, however, basically the same game.
While in theory the game can be run in a web browser, at time of writing that doesn't work for pages hosted here on Neocities, because of something appearing to run server side, which is not implemented/permitted on Neocities. Whether this gets resolved or not is unknown at this stage. However, the game can be downloaded as a .Z5 file and played using one of the many Z-Code interpreters out there, such the reference interpreter Actaea.
